Kenneth E. "Ken" Weiss, 86, formerly of Palmerton and Slatington, passed away peacefully Friday morning in Tremont health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the loving husband of Janice E. (Weil) Weiss, who passed away in 2011. He was a son of the late James E. Weiss and Goldie (Werley) Weiss. Kenneth was employed as a molder at a local foundry for numerous years before retiring. He was an Army veteran and served from 1961-63, as a private first class. He enjoyed working on cars, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Kenneth was a former member of St. John's UCC, Slatington. He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Weiss; son, Thomas Weiss; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Lamont (Ruth) Weiss; sister, Marie Weil. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Wertman; brother, Robert Weiss and a sister, Faye Kemmerer. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, July 28, 2024, Kevin E. Hunsicker Funeral Home Inc., 4214 Main St., Slatedale. Call 2-3 pm Sunday and the Reverend James W. LeVan will officiate. Interment with military honors will be at 2 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2024, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Rd., Annville, PA.
